An American grass spider from the genus Agelenopsis, likely Agelenopsis aperta. Specimen found and photographed in Los Angeles, California. Image is a 13 frame focus stack. Image is slightly cropped from a 1:1 macro on a Canon 20D + EF 100mm 2.8 macro. 13 frames at ISO 100, 1/125, f8. Spider appears somewhat grayer and more opaque to the naked eye without macro lighting and magnification.
